"Pregnancy Complications – Advanced Part 1" delves into the complexities of pregnancy care, equipping healthcare professionals with the expertise to identify, manage, and mitigate complications. This comprehensive course is divided into four units, each targeting critical aspects of advanced pregnancy care:

Unit 1: Advanced Maternal Age
Explore the implications of maternal age on pregnancy outcomes. This unit examines early and late pregnancy complications such as spontaneous abortion, ectopic pregnancy, gestational diabetes, hypertension, and placental issues. Gain insights into managing these challenges while balancing maternal and foetal health.

Unit 2: Twin Pregnancy
Understand the unique dynamics of twin pregnancies. Topics include zygosity, chorionicity, and their implications on maternal and foetal health. Learn to identify and manage complications like preterm delivery, twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome, and selective intrauterine growth restriction. This unit emphasises tailored antenatal care and delivery planning for twins.

Unit 3: Pre-Eclampsia
Dive into the intricacies of pre-eclampsia, including its pathophysiology, risk factors, and management strategies. This unit highlights early detection, antihypertensive therapies, and emergency interventions. Special focus is given to rural healthcare contexts and long-term risk mitigation for affected women.

Unit 4: Skin Disorders of Pregnancy
Examine pregnancy-related dermatological conditions, from benign concerns like stretch marks and chloasma to serious conditions like pemphigoid gestationis and intrahepatic cholestasis. Participants will learn to differentiate between benign and sinister conditions, manage symptoms, and understand their maternal and foetal implications.

This course combines case-based learning, expert-led lectures, and comprehensive assessments to ensure participants develop confidence and proficiency in managing advanced pregnancy complications.
