This course offers an in-depth exploration of prostate conditions, providing healthcare professionals with the tools needed to diagnose and manage common prostate issues. The course is divided into two key units:

Unit 1: Anatomy, Assessment, and Symptoms
This unit introduces the anatomy and function of the prostate gland, explaining how enlargement or dysfunction can lead to urinary symptoms. Participants will learn to identify benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and differentiate between obstructive and overactive bladder symptoms. The unit also covers key red flag symptoms that may indicate the need for specialist referral, such as hematuria, urinary retention, and incontinence.

Unit 2: Examinations, Investigations, and Treatment
This unit focuses on the practical aspects of prostate examinations, including how to perform a digital rectal exam (DRE) and interpret results. It also outlines the importance of urinalysis and other diagnostic tests in assessing prostate conditions. Treatment options are discussed, ranging from conservative approaches like lifestyle changes and pelvic floor exercises to medical therapies and surgical interventions for severe cases.

This course is ideal for practitioners looking to improve their skills in diagnosing and managing prostate-related conditions, ensuring comprehensive care for male patients.
