EXPERT INSTRUCTOR

This course provides an in-depth exploration of dermoscopic techniques for diagnosing acral lesions, focusing on the characteristic patterns seen in melanocytic and non-melanocytic lesions on the palms and soles. The single unit course offers practical insights into dermoscopy for both benign and malignant acral conditions.

Dermoscopy for Acral Lesions delves into the dermoscopic patterns seen in common acral lesions, such as acral nevi and acral lentiginous melanoma. Participants will learn to distinguish between benign and malignant features by evaluating parallel furrow and parallel ridge patterns, which are key in acral lesion diagnosis. The course also covers other conditions, including Peutz Jeghers syndrome, hematoma, pigmented warts, and pigmentation caused by environmental factors like paraphenylenediamine (PPDA). Special attention is given to identifying the regular and irregular patterns that can signify malignancy, with case studies and visual aids to reinforce learning.

Through this unit, participants will gain confidence in applying dermoscopy to acral lesions, improving diagnostic accuracy and patient outcomes.
