This course is divided into two key units:

Unit 1: Anxiety and Depression
This unit explores how medicinal cannabis, particularly the cannabinoids THC and CBD, can help alleviate symptoms of anxiety and depression by targeting the endocannabinoid system. Participants will learn about dosing protocols for anxiety and depression, the role of the endocannabinoid system in mental health, and how to mitigate the side effects of THC using CBD. The unit also covers the interactions between cannabinoids and the brain’s neurotransmitter systems to balance mood and stress responses.

Unit 2: Insomnia
The second unit focuses on the use of cannabis to treat insomnia, one of the most common conditions for which cannabis is used. Participants will explore the effects of cannabinoids, especially THC and CBN, on sleep regulation, understanding the ideal dosing strategies for insomnia based on severity and patient needs. The unit covers the role of terpenes like myrcene and linalool in enhancing sleep quality and discusses how to manage insomnia while considering anxiety and other co-occurring conditions.

This course equips clinicians with practical tools and knowledge to integrate medicinal cannabis into the treatment of anxiety, insomnia, and depression, improving patient care and outcomes.
