- Flaps and Grafts: Master the principles of rhomboid, V-Y, and bilobed flaps, as well as the use of skin grafts for challenging areas like the ear, nose, and lower legs. Learn to select the appropriate technique based on location and patient factors.
- Suturing Techniques: Gain insights into selecting sutures for different wound types, including absorbable and non-absorbable options. Learn advanced suturing methods like pulley and purse-string sutures to manage tension and improve wound healing.
- Anaesthesia and Anticoagulation Management: Optimize patient comfort with local anaesthetic techniques, including buffering and dilution. Understand how to manage anticoagulant medications pre- and post-operatively to reduce bleeding risks.
- Patient Factors and Pre-Surgical Planning: Consider patient-specific factors such as skin type, medical history, and medications like immunosuppressants. Learn to document and photograph lesions effectively for accurate surgical planning and follow-up.
- Post-Surgical Care and Complication Management: Discover best practices for wound care, including the use of silicone gels, dressings, and follow-up protocols to minimise scarring and ensure healing. Address potential complications like wound dehiscence and vascular compromise with confidence.
- Case Discussions and Real-World Applications: Explore complex case studies involving multi-lesion management and cosmetic outcomes. Learn how to adapt techniques for specific challenges, from large lesions to high-risk patient profiles.
